It’s a Surreptitious Adventure of Sacred Solitude and you’re going to want to have one!
I am studying the Muse Lull this week. She is the Muse of Pause, Diversion and Gratitude. She is the one you call on when you are having a creative dry spell or feel blocked. You can also call on her when you feel you are losing your momentum or you’ve stopped enjoying what you are currently working on.
Stop. Breathe. Allow yourself the luxury of doing nothing for a moment or an hour, or even a day. It is in emptiness that inspiration will occur.
~Carol Katchen
My ‘homework’ this week is to enjoy a SASS of my own. While I’m not currently feeling dry or stuck I was, and am, definitely up to the challenge. Here are a few SASS examples from ‘The Nine Modern Day Muses (and a Bodyguard)’ by Jill Badonsky, my fearless leader and trusty mentor:
Light candles. Play music. Take your time. Feel the warmth of the water nurturing you.
Take a walk on the beach. Or in the snow. Or to the nearest garden.
Give yourself $15 to spend however you’d like.
Take the day off.
Walk in a bookstore and soak in the books. Soak.
Go to an Art gallery. Stare.
Find a bench. Sit. Stare.
Go to a coffee shop and watch the people.
Make yourself your favorite meal. Eat it all. Slowly.
Enjoy a glass of your favorite wine (see above pic). Then maybe another one.
I have so many more of these. Some that I’ve even made up! If you’re ever looking for some help re-connecting with your inner creative spirit, email me with your questions. I will be offering coaching packages as soon as I get settled in London. April is going to be an amazing, transformative month!

Huzzah to teaching the world to lull and SASS!! Lovely post!
