I don’t even know where to start! I’m still on Cloud Nine. Last nite I went to Susannah Conway‘s Book Signing/Tour in Toronto and it was nothing short of magical. As a family, we spent the day in downtown Toronto shopping and people gawking and then we headed back to Markham, to the hotel, so that I could ready. Yes, that is me doing the cheesy, full length mirror shot with my iPhone. I couldn’t help myself, I felt great and I had to capture the moment.
It was held at the Teatree Cafe and Eatery on Danforth Ave, a quaint little Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free shop. I promptly ordered a Strawberry Smoothie to sip while I socialized. Well, more like to hide behind as I was so nervous! I have never, ever been to anything like this and, did I mention that besides the gorgeous Susannah, it was co-hosted by the amazing Jamie Ridler and Tanya Geisler?
This pic is Jamie as she introduces Susannah to us. What’s neat about this is that I’d already met and been hugged by both of them at the door. Yep, hugged. There was a lot of this throughout the evening. The lady in the right corner with the braid is Gillian da Silva. I met her online quite a few months back and we’ve chatted back and forth since then. Last nite… yep, got to hug her. I wasn’t able to get a picture of her but I also met the very passionate Ellie Di Julio or, you may know her as the Headologist. Oh, and she has a full head of bright pink hair that bounces around when she is talking, very excitedly, about her business! She has some really neat things in the works and on the go, make sure to drop by her site and check out her offerings.
Susannah read 2 passages for us from her book ‘This I Know’ and it was mesmerizing. Her accent is so beautiful and even when she dropped a few F-bombs later on, they sounded stunning. The F-bombs were during the discussion that we had about life, love and grief after she was done reading. They totally made sense in the moment.
If you look on the left, at the back, that’s Tanya beside Jamie. I have followed both of these Coaches online for close to 2 years now. Part of the reason that I ‘discovered’ coaching and fell in love with it was due to the way that these 2 ladies inspired me at different points. I can’t even put into words how I felt sitting across from Tanya at one point while she asked me about my business and my dreams. I was in awe of every word that came out of her mouth and spent the later part of the evening playing the various conversations over and over in my head until I had memorized them. And yes, hugged her too. A few times.
The highlight of the evening, by far, was getting to sit down, face to face, one-on-one with Susannah. I brought both her books with me. I found Susannah online close to 2 1/2 years ago when I was looking for other Polaroid lovers. I have an extensive collection of vintage Polaroid (and other) cameras and she does also. I’ve read all that she has wrote about photography and just adore her art. She graciously signed my ‘Instant Love’ while we chatted about Polaroid cameras, the ridiculous price of film for them and how much we both love our iPhones. She has this soft, glowy energy and I found myself feeling so dreamy around her.
There was networking and laughter. There were plans being made and dreams being shared. It was so much more than a book signing. It was the beginning of something…

Alright!
It was exactly that! I didn’t have the chance to speak with you — you were leaving and Kath said “there goes Jodi”…and yes, it was so much more than a book reading/signing. It was a magical beginning.
I could’ve stayed all nite but my poor hubby was sitting outside with 1 of our kids and the other 3 were in Markham! So glad you found me – looking forward to chatting more!
